Just under a week after our ‘soft launch’ (that is, we put a few feelers out on twitter that linked to the website), we have had folk sign up for our pilot program already. The pilot program will officially launch at the New Librarians’ Symposium (NLS6) in Brisbane in February, so we are thrilled to have participants on board this early. Please do keep signing up and encourage your friends and colleagues to do the same.
We are delighted (and perhaps somewhat astonished) to find that in the short time since our soft launch there have already been nearly 1000 views of the website, from a diverse range of countries as can be seen below.
Truly an international flavour – just what we dared hope for! As we are launching this in Australia, that’s where our networks are currently strongest so we expected to see Australia feature highly in the beginning. However we’re super pleased to have applications from England, the USA, Latvia and Turkey as well as our Australian applicants.
We are also thrilled by the response so far on Twitter with our account @InterLibNet gaining 54 followers in just 120 hours, thanks to many of our supporters who are retweeting and promoting the program all around the world already. We have had so much wonderful feedback from so many people already. Special thanks to @sallyheroes who named us on the 26th January as one of her daily #nzheroes on her blog: Finding Heros: librarians who dare to be different. We love to hear feedback so please do tweet or email us or leave a comment on our website, we’d love to hear from you.
Thank you again to all those who have helped to spread the word about our program already – we appreciate your support and continue to welcome your comments and suggestions as the pilot unfolds.
