Taking the stage at NLS8

Well, we’re excited! This coming weekend, the ILN founders Kate, Alyson and Clare are presenting our first ever keynote address at NLS8. The New Librarian’s Symposium (NLS) is an Australian conference series aimed at students and new grads, but everyone is made very welcome, regardless of age or stage. It’s designed to be a safe place to get up and deliver your first conference presentation, hang out with people at a similar career stage to you and hear from more experienced speakers as well.  The conference is held every 2 years, and as you can probably tell from the title, it’s now up to it’s 8th iteration.

The ILN mentoring program was launched at NLS6 a few years ago so it’s kind of nice to be coming full circle now that the program has been closed. We’re really looking forward to this weekend – we’re embracing the challenges of international librarianship by planning to have Alyson beam in from Copenhagen, to supplement the in-real-life presence of both Kate and Clare in Canberra.

Watch this space, we’ll let you know how you can get hold of our presentation soon.
