The Nigerian Stock Exchange www.nse.com.ng services the largest economy in Africa and is championing the development of Africa’s financial markets. The NSE, a registered company limited by guarantee, was founded in 1960 and it is licensed under the Investments and Securities Act (ISA) and is regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Nigeria. The Exchange offers listing and trading services, licensing services, market data solutions, ancillary technology services and more.
The Nigerian Stock Exchange is committed to adding value and creating a learning culture by the establishment of a well-equipped Library. The library of The Exchange is designed to function as a knowledge centre and it aims to provide a suitable environment where resources are made available to employees and other patrons to enhance their intellectual capacity, learning and research.
The following objectives have been identified for the Library:
- To make available an organized collection of information resources
- To promote the communication of ideas to staff, and other library patrons through guidance and
- To position The Exchange as a source of authoritative information and learning organisation.
- To support research by providing updated and relevant data.
- To provide opportunity and support for learning to all patrons.
The Library is open to employees of The Exchange, Stockbrokers, researchers, students, journalists and users seeking knowledge on the activities of the Nigerian capital market.
The robust collection of the Library comprise of books and journals (print and electronic), newsletters, magazines, and The Exchange’s Factbooks. The collection provides resources on the capital market and other related disciplines such as finance, investing, information technology, leadership and management.
The Library maintains an integrated Library Management System that provided users with access to the bibliography of its collection and online journals and publications. The Library also has in its collection special publications such as annual reports of companies listed on The Exchange, reports and publications.
Location of the Library: 20th Floor, Stock Exchange House, 2-4 Custom Street, Marina, Lagos, Nigeria.
Library Opening Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
