Today’s guest post comes to us from Khayala Khalilova from ADA University in Azerbaijan:

DSC08879On the 1st and 3rd of September ADA University Library held an orientation for first year students. The aim of the Orientation was to give brief and important information to the new students about ADA University Library and its rules. Orientation consisted of two parts: first part was dedicated to the introduction of Library staff members. The second part covered the tour sessions for the students divided into separate groups.

On the first part of the Orientation the dean of ADA University Library Martha Speirs greeted and congratulated students and spoke to them about the importance of the library in the academic and learning processes of the students’ life. She gave them crucial advices and explained how to use electronic and print information resources. After her introducing the staff members, each library specialist gave brief information about the activity of their department. At the end of the event the librarians answered students’ questions.

The most important and interesting part of the orientation was library tour. During the tour students divided into some groups and librarians accompanied them. Library staff visually showed how to use print books, electronic resources, periodicals, and also technical equipment.

Thank you for sharing Khayala! We hope the orientation went well.
