We ask participants at the end of each round what impact the ILN had on their professional activities. Based on that feedback we know that the number one outcome for participants in the ILN is developing a wider professional awareness and an international perspective on their work.
And we can tell why! The ILN is an incredibly diverse global community, with volunteers from nearly 30 countries and participants from over 110.
By participating in the next round of the ILN’s peer mentoring program, you will not only be matched with a peer mentor from another country, but you will receive discussion topics and guest posts from librarians all over the world. Example from previous rounds include:
- Stories from the Stacks, a series where librarians shared unexpected things that had happened in their libraries
- Our collection of Librarians sharing their #FavouriteFeature of their library or workplace
- Our Day in the Life series, where librarians shared a day in their workplace
- and our ever expanding Postcard series, where librarians send us a digital postcard from their part of the world
As you can see, if you want to know more about the wide world of Global Librarianship, there’s lots of reasons to sign up for our next round.
Don’t forget, it’s important to know what you’re signing up for – so check out how the program works . Applications for the next round of partnerships are now open and close at midnight on Sunday 26th July 2015.
The ILN is open to anyone in the library and information industry around the world. The program remains free and the only requirements to participate are an Internet connection, fluent English skills, an hour each week and a desire to build professional connections and learn from colleagues.
So hurry, don’t miss out: apply online now!
