#FavouriteFeature: June Hughes from the United Kingdom

Today’s post comes from the ILN Ambassador for the ILN, June Hughes who shares a very special little feature of her library:


This is a picture of the Secret Door in the old fireplace at the public library where I work. You don’t really get a sense of scale from this photo, I’m afraid, but the door is only about 2 foot high.  No one knows where the key is or what is behind it. We use it a lot for story writing with children –  they make up the most fantastical accounts of the worlds that might exist behind that door

  1. I love the idea of using for children to start their creative writing. Howeve, I wouldn’t be able to resist getting the locksmiths in after hours.
