SocialBiblio is an online community relating to librarianship, information science and information management in which we can all learn together through conducting webinars (online seminars). Cooperative learning is our philosophy, and we assume that we all have something to teach and something to learn. For this purpose, SocialBiblio, through its blog, is constituted as a platform for collaborative training in which one day some of us will be teachers and others of us will be students.
SocialBiblio is aimed at information professionals: librarians, documentalists, archivists, document managers, etc., and also to the users of information units wishing to train on a specific area. However, anybody is welcome to use SocialBiblio as access is free and open.
Any issues that may be of interest to the targeted audience can be discussed in the classes: from the use of specific databases to presentation of information resources, application of Web 2.0 tools in libraries, marketing techniques for information units, etc.
The blog is the main access to the information: classes are offered via the blog and once they’re held, it gathers the materials and recorded classes. It has been 100 webinars so far. And the intention is to continue serving the librarians and people interested in this field.
