Conference follow up: further reading

We hope that our program participants are having some good discussions about conferences: how to make the most of them and who their dream conference speaker would be. Amy Barker, ILN Program Coordinator, has done a bit of web trawling for us and come up with a few resources to help you plan future conference attendance.

First up, we have a couple of websites that list library conferences around the world. Remember that attending a conference involves planning ahead – sometimes a year or more – to secure funding and maybe even submit a presentation proposal.

  • Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) has a calendar of events, which currently reaches into 2020
  • Library Conference Planner is a fairly detailed listing, and we wish the website owner a speedy recovery from his recent surgery!

Once you’ve picked your conference, had your presentation proposal accepted, secured funding and booked your travel, here are some more websites to help you prepare for the event itself:

Armed with all this fabulous knowledge, we now expect that you’ll totally ace your next conference – we hope to see you there!
