Our bags are packed and very very soon we will be flying north away from Sydney to Singapore for ten days of conferences, networking and international librarian fun.
In case you’ve missed it, over the next 10 days the IFLA World Library and Information Congress is hitting Singapore where it is rumoured close to 4000 librarians will come together for what is set to be an action packed conference.
To warm up for IFLA we will be attending IFLACamp2 on Thursday and Friday, an unconference put together by the New Professionals Special Interest Group for two days of discussion, work shopping and networking. If you can’t be there, don’t forget to follow #iflacamp on Twitter to see what’s happening.
Then from Saturday to Friday we will be at the IFLA World Library and Information Congress where will be be presenting our poster, on the ILN pilot program, as well as attending lots of sessions, meetings and building our own international librarian networks. You can follow all the action on Twitter using #wlic2013.
We know that there are a number of ILN participants and supporters attending IFLA so we’re planning a meet-up to get to know some of you in real life. If you can make it meet us at 3:30pm on Sunday 18th of August near the entrance to the exhibition area.
The plan is that we meet up first and then can all go to the Exhibition opening at 4pm. We will tweet an exact location for the meet-up once we get there so keep an eye on our twitter feed (@interlibnet). If you can’t make the meeting, please don’t be shy about saying hello. We’re going to be at our poster from 12-2pm on Monday and Tuesday or just say hi if you see us around the conference.
We’re really excited about this trip and we look forward to sharing our experiences with you so stay tuned for photos and stories to come.
UPDATE: Meet-up for ILN participants and supporters
If you are at the IFLA WLIC and would like to meet some of the ILN community in real life come along to our meet up at 3.30pm on Sunday 18th August 2013. Meet us outside the entrance to exhibition halls 401 and 402 (as modelled by Alyson and Clare in this picture) and at 4pm we can go into the exhibition opening together.
